Cloverdale sits in the Nestucca Valley in southern Tillamook County — dairy country a few miles from the Pacific, where a roof gets the two conditions that retire roofing materials early on the north coast: rain measured in feet, and coastal air.
Why cedar shingle profile, in aluminum
The cedar shingle profile keeps the look this valley’s homes have always had — but pressed in aluminum, it sheds what real cedar absorbs. Wood shakes in a Tillamook County valley hold moisture most of the year; moss and rot follow. Aluminum holds nothing: no granules, no fibers, and a surface moss cannot root into.
The color is Alunar®-coated Deep Charcoal — a 70% PVDF finish, the same coating class specified for coastal architecture, warranted for 30 years.
The coastal material decision
Closer to the salt line, the material question settles the contractor question. Steel roofing depends on its coating; at every cut edge and scratch, salt air finds the iron underneath. Aluminum has no iron to oxidize — it cannot rust. That is why our warranty carries no salt-air exclusion: the Guardian Lifetime Limited Material Warranty applies in Cloverdale exactly as it does in Portland.

Four-way interlocked panels with concealed fasteners, a warranted 120 mph wind rating installed to manufacturer specification, wind uplift resistance documented to 177.5 psf under ICC-ES ESR-1790, and UL 2218 Class 4 impact resistance verified via Intertek. One installation — no repeat tear-off on a 15-to-20-year clock.
